Itinerary

Day 1

Land in Lima

You land in Lima today, usually in late afternoon or evening. We love Peru's capital, but unless you can dedicate a couple of nights to explore it properly, it makes no sense to battle through traffic into the centre then turn straight around in the morning. Staying at the airport helps take the edge off after a long flight and puts you in prime position to fly to the jungle tomorrow.

Day 2

Head into the Amazon jungle

Day 3

Choose how to explore

Day 4

Watch parrots flock to the clay lick

Day 5

Travel into the Sacred Valley

Day 6

Experience the valley's rich Inca culture

Day 7

Cycle between famous Inca sites

Day 8

Follow the Royal Inca Trail to Machu Picchu

Day 9

Return to Machu Picchu in the quiet afternoon

Day 10

Continue to Cusco via a weaving co-operative
