Day 1

Travel to the Picos de Europa mountains


You begin in Bilbao, reached by land, air or sea from the UK or by train via Madrid or Paris. Travel along the pretty Cantabrian coast before the road winds through high mountains and overhanging cliffs to the pastures and forests of the Liébana Valley. This part of the Picos has a warm and sunny microclimate, so having said hello to your lovely hosts, you might want to take a dip in the small pool.

Day 2

Ride the cable car into the highlands

Hike the Cares Gorge en route to the coast


Day 4

Discover the Picos de Europa with your guide


Day 5

Explore the coast as you head west


Day 6

Walk in the Oscos Valley

Continue west into Galicia

Drive down the Costa da Morte to reach Santiago
