Day 1
Arrive to Salvador
Today you travel to Brazil’s fourth-largest city, Salvador de Bahia, set on a peninsula between the Atlantic and the vast Todos os Santos Bay. The site of Brazil’s first major European settlement, its history is deeply shaped by the transatlantic slave trade, giving rise to a richly vibrant Afro-Brazilian culture. You stay in a small hotel near the old city, away from tourist crowds, amid local bars, artisan shops and harbour views. After a long journey, enjoy excellent nearby restaurants or room service, perhaps with a caipirinha overlooking the bay.
