Northern Portugal Vacations
Hiking vacations, road trips & tailormade tours to Northern Portugal
Tucked up in the far north, on the border with Spain, is a scenic pocket of Portugal unaffected by tourism, where no one is ever in much of a hurry and where the clocks seem to tick a little slower.

April to June

Perfect weather for walking (& wine)
April to June
April nudges the temperatures up towards the higher teens and the rainfall down a little more. The arrival of spring lends everything a fresh and green feel, so it’s a nice time to get out in your walking boots.
May is one of our favourite months for a trip here, right in the sweet spot between early spring and summer. Temperatures hover around 20 degrees during the day - pretty much perfect for a good walk. June is hotter, but certainly still comfortable if you’re sensible and it’s also noticeably drier. It’s also a pretty good time to be in Ponte de Lima, which celebrates Minho’s emblematic and highly refreshing Vinho Verde (green wine) with a few days of festivities towards the start of the month.
