But for active families, we instead set our sights on the north, where the unspoilt beaches, traditional fishing towns, exuberant forests and alpine mountains allow you all to live out your vacation fantasies far away from the heat and crowds. Laugh-out-loud activities can give way to slow strolls along the beach; days of discovery blend into long evenings surrounded by the sights and smells of rural Spain. The high mountains might call one day, the warm sea the next.
