Luisina joins the Pura team
Time to introduce you to Luisina Caro, as she joined the team in April. Luisina is our newest travel specialist, and is here to help design the best trip for you.
Originally from Argentina, Luisina’s path to our Brighton office has had many stopovers. Indeed, Luisina has a very lively story. She grew up in a small village in the north of Cordoba province, in the heart of Argentina, and intended to study medicine, but after a trip to Cuba, she decided on tourism instead.
However, while her trip to Cuba was life-changing, it is in fact Brazil that remains closest to her heart: as a child, she spent most of her holidays in southern Brazil: Iguaçu, Buzios, Rio, Sao Paulo, Florianapolis… She loves Brazil so much that last October she took her new husband to Bahía for their honeymoon.
As for her professional background, Luisina has worked as a tour guide in Argentinian Patagonia, where she would take Italian, Portuguese and Spanish tourists around Ushuaia and the Tierra del Fuego National Park.
She also worked in a catamaran along the Beagle Channel and guided tourists into Lago Escondido and Lago Fagnano to show them the stunning landscapes. In winter she’d assist in transfers to the Cerro Castor skiing station, and go to husky breeding centres for sledge trips. How exciting!
Before eventually joining Pura, she also worked as a member of cabin crew in a major airline in Dubai for over 5 years. This allowed her to travel to more than 60 countries around the world, visiting the main cities and attractions. However, travelling to a tight schedule and sticking to the “must do’s” left her feeling unfulfilled, and keen to experience destinations at a different level, taking the time to connect with the local people, their heritage and environment.
So when her husband was offered a job for Virgin Atlantic in the Gatwick HQ, she decided to follow him to the UK. By happy coincidence, we were looking to expand the team, and so you know the rest…
Luisina is here on the end of the phone 01273 676 712 and on luisina[@]pura-aventura.com to organise your bookings in Spain and Latin America. She will be writing more about her travels, but here she shares her top tip:
‘Prior to your trip, do learn some basic words in the local language. Most people, and mostly away from the beaten track, don’t speak English. So having some polite phrases handy will help you to break the ice. As a Latina, I can tell you that we appreciate the effort, even if we don’t expect you to be fluent!’
