Laura joins the Pura team

The last couple of months have been exciting in the Pura office. As we’re expanding the team, we welcomed Luisina and Laura in Sales and Operations respectively.

I am delighted to start by introducing you to Laura Burton, our new executive, who has joined Sarah and Greta in the Operations team. Her role here at Pura is to make sure that your holidays happen exactly as planned, by doing availability checks and booking with our partners in places like Northern Spain or Costa Rica.

Laura was born in London, but moved to France when she was 2 and grew up in a small French town near Toulouse, in the south west.

She grew up loving languages and geography, so at 18 she left France to study Spanish and Film at Southampton University. As part of her degree, she spent a year abroad as a language assistant in a high school in Bilbao – ‘’the best year of my life‘’ she admits. She also spent a year in Lanzarote inbetween her studies, working in the hotel industry.

Then once she finished her degree, she moved to Mexico City for 8 months to teach English, which let her travel round the country and enjoy Mexican food fully!

Back in 2015, she moved to Brighton to work as a Tour Coordinator, organising school trips for British schools abroad – talking to the teachers and organising the details of a tour, creating itineraries and booking all the services, before sending out the final pack to the groups. She was also on hand if the groups had any issues or needed anything while they were away.

She says it was a great experience in multi-tasking, and that she had to be very well organised, paying attention to every single detail - for example, choosing meals for 30 kids with different dietary requirements for a week away, or deciding how to work long itineraries around coach drivers' legal driving hours.

So as you see, Laura is a globetrotter and makes sure she goes on one big trip a year, discovering cultures as diverse as Australia, The Dominican Republic and Thailand in recent years. And now that she works with us, she has already booked Rio and Buenos Aires for 2019.

Laura will certainly be writing more about her travels here in the near future, but in the meantime, she’s on the end of the phone 01273 676 712 to organise your bookings in the Iberian Peninsula and Latin America. You can also contact her on laura** [@]pura-aventura.com**
