"I just wanted to thank you and ask you to pass on our thanks to our guide, Alex. We had an amazing weekend even with the bad weather! Missing out on canyonning was a shame but it meant we could walk for much longer in the gorge that was incredible. We have vowed to visit Asturias again, if only for the great cheese and cider ! Thanks again." David H, Picos Adventure Weekend 2008

"We had a really good time. The Hotel Casferrer Nou was excellent and Stephie a delight. We ate several times at Es Canyar in Alcudia, as recommended by Stephie, where the Mallorcan food was exceptionally good. We managed to fit in four walks including the Valldemossa Circuit, the Biniaraix Gorge, the Talaia de Alcudia, plus a walk with Miguel to Fartaritx where we saw the old finca which he hopes one day to create a walking/activity centre based on the conserved farm buildings. Quite an exciting project if he can get the support. The only disappointment was that on the day (Sunday) we were intending to do the Puig Ruig circuit it was raining so hard we coudn't even see the mountain, so we had to content ourselves with looking around Lluc, which was inundated with (very wet) visitors. Otherwise everything else went very smoothly - flights, car hire, hotel, etc. Please pass on our thanks and best wishes to Stephie and Miguel when you are next in touch. Many thanks once again." Laurie & Mary C. Mallorca Self Drive 2008

“We are writing to say how much we loved our recent holiday in the Picos on your family adventure. We were very impressed with the way everything was organised. This left us relaxed and stress free to enjoy all the activities and our surroundings. We feel that this is mostly due to the understanding and enthusiasm of the two guides Alex and Jaime. They looked after us in every aspect, always going one step beyond what was asked for. Both were friendly with everyone, particularly showing patience with the children.” Derek & Jane Active Spain: Picos Family Adventure, 2007

“I am just writing to say how much my family enjoyed our week in Asturias! We thoroughly enjoyed all the activities. The guides, Alex and Jaime were both excellent and looked after us very well. The holiday was excellent value for money, we enjoyed trying the local food and drink. We will certainly use Pura again!!” Jill B, Active Spain: Picos Family Adventure, 2007.

“Peru – Andes to Amazon was our chosen honeymoon destination, we have travelled to many destinations however this adventure was our best by far. Thank you to Pura Aventura for the exceptional organisation and everyone involved; the guides made it real and memorable forever” Rosey & Stuart B, Active Peru Andes to Amazon, 2007.

"We have just returned from the Picos. We had a great time. The hotel is very quiet and comfortable and as you said produces excellent food after a day on the mountains. Alex was a great guide (took us up to Urriello and beyond)! We found your walking notes and tips on eating/drinking etc. excellent. The maps you produced were the envy of some friends we met up with. Thank you for your excellent organisation and service." Clare D, Active Spain: Picos Self Drive, 2007.

"We are back from our holiday in Galapagos and Peru - it was a really really excellent trip and absolutely everything worked perfectly ... your organisation was superb, guides all excellent, hotels great ... all brilliant ! We found your services completely outstanding, from your email correspondence, to travel pack, itinerary and choice of the individual elements. Gabi especially in Cusco was tremendous. The boat Samba for the Galapagos was perfect and crew superb. Thanks, and we would surely use you again should it look appropriate and absolutely would recommend you to anyone considering a South American holiday." Jeremy L, Walk and Wildlife: Peru & Galapagos Holiday, 2007.

“We had the most fantastic time. We saw and did so much and yet had time to relax as well. Not picking up the car until we had acclimatised to roads was very good.” John H Wildlife & Beach: Costa Rica 2007

"Arrived back from our hols yesterday, had a wonderful time. Veronica, our guide in the Galapagos was amazing, her knowledge of the islands was astounding, and the Beagle and the crew was out of this world! We loved Cusco cos it was so different, the people were so traditional. The hike was hard work, but well worth the experiences of the campsites and the beautiful views, especially when we reached 4200mts, the highest point! The view when we reached the 'sun gate' to see machu picchu for the first time was so special and worth the hard work of the hike. Pepe was a great guide, even joining in with us in a game of cards in the evening in the dining tent! All the transfers and flight times were spot on during our time in south america, guides were always on time, and we had no problems." Lesley G, Walk and Wildlife: Peru & Galapagos Holiday, 2007.

"The best short holiday experience we've ever had" Helen H, Rioja Vineyard Weekend, 2007

"Enjoyed our day with Diego, a nice start to the holiday. Diego's advice on other walks & activities were of great help. We were impressed with all the maps, walking notes and book which were invaluable". Sue & Nicholas M, Picos Self Drive 2007

"Well, as you predicted, I was not disappointed in Jaime. Mostly because he is a genuinely kind and wonderful person and he is very competent as a guide. The rafting, full day, was so worth it! Jordi took 3 of us canyoning...he also was fun and funny! I would so totally do that again. Food was also great... can't think of a bad meal...Catalan cuisine! Again Tom, another great trip with Pura...and the 5 travellers with me were all totally impressed with guides, lodging, meals and the personal touches. I am looking forward to my next Pura trip." Theresa H, Active Spain: Pyrenees Adventure, 2007.

"Just to let you know that we had a really splendid weekend in Rioja. Xabi is a wonderful guide and we were privileged to share him among only 3 of us. The hotel was perfect, and we were really spoiled by Maite. Will be recommending Pura Aventura to many friends." Jane B, Walk & Wine Spain: Rioja Vineyard Weekend, 2007.

"In all the trip was awesome and we wouldn't have changed a thing. From the very first day we arrived in Peru we couldn't believe how lucky we were and not a day would go by without us commenting on what a great company we were travelling with. We had wonderful guides at every stage of the trip who spoke fantastic English and made sure all our needs were met. We thoroughly enjoyed every tour and couldn't believe that we had our own "private tours" as we were sure we would be mixed with other groups. The Inca Trail was without doubt my favourite part of the trip. Pepe, the chef and the porters took superb care of us and really worked hard. We can't thank them enough. Each day we were amazed that the porters would leave after us, arrive at the next camp site before us and then prepare such wonderful food using the most basic cooking equipment. They really did work wonders. On the whole everything was perfect, the hotels, the staff and the tours and we cannot thank you enough. We had the trip of a lifetime and one that we will never forget! Many, many thanks to you and everyone who made our trip so wonderful." Tara D, Walk, Wildlife & Culture: Essential Peru, 2007.

Fiona W, Walk Spain: Picos Self Drive, 2007.

"We returned eventually a few weeks ago from our round the world trip and although it is now almost 3 months since, we remember vividly our time in Patagonia, which was made all the more enjoyable by your local knowledge, enthusiasm and inexhaustible patience, especially in coaxing us up to see the cloud-covered Torres! Thanks once again." Jean & John A, Walk Chile: Tailor Made, 2007.

"The guides we had during the trip turned a walking holiday into a much more interesting experience." Steven J Walk Chile: Atacama & Patagonia, 2007

Brian G, Skiing, Chile, 2005.

Thought I would drop you a note to let you know how much we enjoyed the Mallorca holiday. The hotel was excellent. The walking was very good and very much better than we thought they would be. The information we were given by the guide was really useful. He helped by marking all the walks up on the large map we had, so that we had some idea on where the walks were in relation to the roads. His instructions were very good, even down to where we should park. The walks were much more challenging than we anticipated with some very big climbs. The views were always magnificent, with the sea always in sight. The recommended beaches were superb with hardly anyone else on them." Rob L, Mallorca Walking, Spain, 2005.

"First of all, a big thank you to you all for such an amazing holiday. I hope you have received the evaluation forms now and I hope they conveyed how much we enjoyed ourselves. I cannot emphasise how impressed we were with the whole set-up. "This is just the best skiing - go!" Val B, Skiing, Chile, 2005.

"It is impossible to be bored on a Galapagos trip, all the islands are different and fascinating. If you think you've snorkeled before, try snorkeling with sealions, turtles and penguins in one trip." Louise C, Galapagos Cruise, Ecuador, 2005.

"Pura Aventura instantly impressed me by coming up with a choice of destinations and activities just for us to accommodate our holiday timing. Everything was well organised and we transferred from destination to destination with no hassles. The local guides were excellent. Our boys (ages 13+15) had a blast seeing the Galapagos animals, rafting and cycling in the Andes, hiking the Inca Trail, exploring Machu Picchu and the rainforest. Thank you for an unforgettable family holiday." Nancy S, Walk and Wildlife, Peru & Galapagos, 2005.

"Thanks for arranging the most incredible holiday for us. It really was the trip of a lifetime!
I have given your company name to at least 3 people so far!" Karen S, Walk and Wildlife, Peru & Galapagos, 2005.

"We had a great holiday in Chile. Many thanks for everything. The staff were excellent, Maria was superb!" Darren B, Skiing, Chile, 2005.

"Thomas - just returned from my Big Stretch with Rosie, Jessica and Diego and I wanted to let you know what a fantastic week it was.The concept of the Big Stretch is excellent, thanks for the time you took to talk to me about the trip, no hippies in sight and a lot of stretching done! I wanted to say thanks and give you some feedback. The pura aventura operation is seriously one of the most professional I have come across, I reckon you are filling a gap and niche in the market for all of us who really love Spain and Latin America." Louise S, The Big Stretch , Spain, 2005.

"We've had a wonderful time in Peru. Many, many thanks for all your organisational efforts, your attention to detail, and your prompt and unfailingly helpful responses to our many and various queries....Daniel is a delightful person and an excellent guide - he is in a different class altogether from all the other guides we met. He looked after us all exceptionally well. He is a major asset to Pura Aventura!" Chris D, Peru Uncovered, Peru, 2005.

"Valle Nevado was tremendous. Everyone was so helpful, the hotel restaurants were great and the skiing was out of this world. Links to two other resorts- no queues and glorious snow/sunshine. There is nothing really we can say about our time in San Pedro that can really do it justice. Camilo was out of this world as a guide - keeping us away from crowds, so informative and helpful and the hotel was beautiful, we were so sad to leave! So overall an amazing experience, what a wonderful country." Malcolm W, Ski & Desert, Chile, 2005.

"“The Picos Family Adventure holiday was one of the most amazing experiences we have had as a family and, ultimately, incredibly bonding. How many families do you know who learn to abseil waterfalls together? This fabulous holiday is not for the feint-hearted though…be prepared to walk, cycle and canoe further than you have done as a family before. The two local guides are absolutely fantastic and provide exemplary guiding mixed with a huge amount of interesting information about the local area – we feel lucky to have spent a week in the company of two guides who obviously adore the Picos - our holiday was all the more enriched as a result.” Alexa F, Active Picos Family Adventure, Spain, 2005.

Wow.....we had a fantastic time in Peru, it exceeded all of our expectations, and Im sure the success of the trip was largely down to your careful planning....thank-you. From the very start we were pleasantly surprised by the amount of personal service that we received from all the guides and coordinators in each town, everyone was very friendly and simply could not do enough for us. Most of the contacts even seemed to know it was our honeymoon which was a nice touch.
Dany in Lima was very knowledgeable and informative on our arrival and departure, It was a great touch to be shown around when we arrived instead of just waiting in the airport for our connection.Daniel in Cusco was particularly attentive and always available and willing to help, the rafting and cycling were both excellent.
Then the Inca trail....what a surprise, we didnt expect such high class food when everything had to be carried in! the porters and guides worked very hard and the walking was nothing short of spectacular. Finally the jungle was a superb way to finish, a chance to slow down a little and enjoy the wildlife - we were again amazed at the quality of the accommodation.Overall the itinerary was very carefully thought out and showed a really deep understanding of the country and our requirements. We meet too many people who had tried to go to the highest places without proper acclimatisation or simply tried to cover too much distance and either way ended up feeling unwell. We are glad to say that we dont think we suffered any altitude problems and we enjoyed the way each activity led into the the next. Also, we were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food in Peru, we didnt really know what to expect but it was generally very tasty! Finally, I have to compliment you on your choice of hotels, I knew we were booked into comfortable places but some of them were way better than we anticipated, particularly the suite in the Jungle and Rebecca managed to get us a lovely little individual suite/cottage at Colca Lodge! Thanks again for your attention to detail, I know that Thomas even took a personal interest in our trip, which was very welcome - it seemed like we had special attention but im sure this is just the usual service from Pura. I am sure we will be speaking to you again soon when we have saved enough money for our next trip....maybe Chile!!...its good to dream about your next trip when you have only just returned from your last!!!" Duncan N, Peru Uncovered/Honeymoon, Peru, 2005.

"Our guide, Daniel, went out of his way to help us be prepared for the trail. His help was invaluable and far beyond what we would have expected." Clare M, Inca Trail, Peru, 2005.

"An enormously enjoyable & successful holiday. Great to see Diego again and we much appreciated being able to share the walk with him on our first day. Loved the fact that the walks were so remote that we hardly saw another soul until reaching Fuente Dé" Jenny A, Picos Inn to Inn, Spain, 2005.

"The holiday far exceeded my expectations; beautiful scenery, friendly guides, total relaxation. I'm saving for my next break with them." Kevin S, Picos Adventure, Spain, 2005.

From all accounts the trip was a complete and total success. I appreciate the extra hoops you went through to ensure its success. So from all of us many thanks for stepping up to the plate." Jen C, Aracena Inn to Inn, Spain, 2005.

"The trip was fantastic! Xabi and Camilo were great guides. I came away with what felt like a considerable knowledge of Torres del Paine." Bridget I, Patagonia Mountain Circuit, Chile, 2005.

"I have a hard time deciding which part was best, but the trekking overall was superb, and the walk up to the Torres a definite highlight, especially as we didn't think we'd see much on setting off. Mind you, Atacama was also amazing, especially struggling up a volcano to some 5,600m. So, thanks again for an amazing time: My first experience of a group holiday, and a very positive one too." Chris S, Atacama & Patagonia , Chile, 2005.

"I just wanted to write to sincerely thank you for what has proven to be a holiday of a lifetime for us.

Both of us are quite well travelled but never expected to be bowled over as much as we were on this trip. Everything was perfect - those things that you could control and those that you couldn't, such as the volcano and the weather! The quality of all the events was superb as was the food and hotel accommodation. We were knocked out by the Alerce Lodge in particular." Patrick L, Patagonia's Pirenwinkul, Chile, 2005.

"Excellent information packs, superb friendly service." Gary R, Pyrenees Winter Self Drive, Spain, 2005.

"Overall a great holiday. However, being a vegetarian was a bit of a problem. I tried ordering a cheese omlette with chips, but something got lost in the translation & I got a plate of chips & 3 varieties of cheese! It was very nicely presented though." Gary O, Pyrenees Winter Self Drive, Spain, 2005.
ed: vegetarians in the Pyrenees. Warn us in advance and we'll do our best to prepare the hotel for your arrival. If you eat fish, you'll be fine. If not, you need to be prepared to see quite a lot of potatoes & eggs.

"Two words: awesome experience. 'Awesome' scenery with enjoyment maximised by 'experience' of the guides!" Howard M, Atacama & Patagonia, Chile, 2005.

"My wife and I returned from our five days in the Pyrenees last Friday. It was a superb break and the hotel was outstanding. Diane took up skiiing where she had left off 40 years ago and had a wonderful time on the slopes at Formigal. I had some lessons but found it far from easy at 61! However we had lots of fun and didn't break anything." John S, Pyrenees Winter Self-Drive, Spain, 2005.

"I just dont think our pure patagonian adventure could have been bettered. Everything went exactly to plan even though we had to blag our way into the hotels, refugios, etc with "No vouchers!" Eventually the name Pura Aventura raised the eyebrows and we were accepted. But that was a minor hitch only...We have boasted that we ordered the horses from Pura Aventura from Brighton two months before and on the Monday wandered down to the carpark of the Hosteria Lago Grey, slightly doubtingly, and on the strike of ten, the gaucho galloped over the horizon leading two horses towards us!" Fiona F, Patagonia Tailor Made, Chile, 2005
"We had a lovely holiday. We loved Northern Spain, the countryside was amazing - we even got used to the snow chains!" Pam M, Pyrenees Winter Self-Drive, Spain, 2005.

"Overall, a fantastic & very well organised trip, thank you. I wouldn't recommend Hotel Costa Verde as food & service not good. However, we did go & eat at Hotel Parador down the road which was superb." Christopher N, Costa Rica Self-Drive, 2004.
ed: talking about Manuel Antonio. We are now looking at moving all trips across to the Hotel Parador.

"Hi, just wanted to let you know that I'm back...and my luggage eventually returned too!!!! I had an absolutely fantastic time - surprise, suprise. "Thanks for your help organising my holiday. I had a fantastic time - the Picos are incredible. I did some fantastic walks, the hotel was great, the food delicious and the weather good. My only complaint was that I had to come home. I'm busy telling everyone I know about how amazing the Picos Mountains are, and how everyone must go there. I would have no hesitation recommending you guys for anyone looking for assistance organising a trip." Jo P, Picos Self Drive, 2004

"We had a brilliant holiday last week – good weather for walking the whole week. The two posadas were excellent – we particularly enjoyed staying in Aniezo, where Mari-Luz was very sweet. Michelle V, Picos Inn to Inn, 2004.
ed: This year saw much less snow than usual for Chile. When conditions fell short of our client's expectations, we were able to swap their holidays around, mixing skiing with the Atacama desert and/or luxury breaks in the wine producing heartland.

"I want to thank you and Xabi for helping to make our honeymoon a memorable one. Your recommendations were right on target and we enjoyed encountering some of those "off the beaten track" spots. Jill and I are already talking about our return trip to Spain and I will be sure to look you up when the time comes." Jeff B, Spain, Pyrenees/Rioja Self Drive, 2004.

"The effort that went into planning our itinerary resulted in a wonderful holiday. This survey looks a bit critical but it's in the spirit of helping you be even better. We had a terrific holiday and would recommend you to anyone." Sarah F, Spain, Picos Self Drive, 2004.

"Everything was excellent. The car big enough to hold too much luggage, the people at all three hotels fantastic and our guide Diego a charmer!" AM, Spain, Picos Self Drive, 2004.

"Thank you so, so much for an absolutely amazing holiday. The way you managed to adapt our travels to the local conditions was astonishing - so efficient and caring (and must have involved quite a bit of extra work). I can't imagine any of the large travel companies doing anything like that. In fact, they wouldn't even have allowed us to travel on a Monday anyway." Dorothy T, Chile, Skiing, 2004.

"Great walking in lovely unspoilt countryside, wild flowers everywhere, interspersed with charming villages and welcoming inns for much needed rest and relaxation at the end of each day."Pauline A, Spain, Aracena Inn to Inn, 2004

"We thoroughly enjoyed our guide, Diego. As for the rafting and kayaking...WOW...great experiences. The guys made great fresh lunches...the fresh veggies and bread were better than the restaurants! Biking was great fun and as for the salt mines and lakes...I have never seen anything so unusual in my life! The Inca trail hike was awesome...what a day. On top of the world. Cusco was a welcome sight for shopping, eating, recovering and the Inti Raymi. The jungle was a nice peaceful way to wind down the pace of our travels - the giant otters were incredible." Teresa H, Peru, Family Adventure, 2004.

"I was incredibly impressed with your company and felt that it illustrated all the advantages of dealing with a comparatively small company which is run by the people who founded it. There is something different about a company whose vision and individual stamp is very clear because its founders are hands-on at the helm." Fiona M (Travel Journalist), Spain, Picos, 2003.
