Active Holiday Itinerary

Day 1 | Fly to Chile |                          

Day 2 | Puerto Montt | Fly and relax
Morning arrival in Santiago, connect to Puerto Montt where you spend 1 night in a first class hotel. Arrive late morning and relax. (b)

Day 3 | Pumalín | Sail through fjords
Morning drive along the Carretera Austral. Board your small boat at lunch time and set sail into the fjords of Pumalín Park, really the only way to see this remote part of Chile. (b,l,d)

Day 4 | Pumalín | Wildlife & hot springs
Pumalín Park is the 2,700km² of temperate rainforest, travel through a virgin landscape of mountains, forests, lakes and glacier. Cruise to a remote sea lion colony. (b,l,d)

Day 5
| Pumalín | Relax in hot springs
Morning cruise to waterfalls and high peaks. Afternoon soak in hot springs. (b,l,d)

Day 6 | Frutillar | Disembark & collect car
Cruise to the volcanic cone of Hornopirén. Return to Puerto Montt this afternoon. Collect your car and drive to the lakeside village of Frutillar. Stay in one of the original German dwellings. (b,l)

Day 7 | Frutillar | Explore & relax
Explore at your own pace. Frutillar village is known for its perfectly preserved late 19th century German architecture. Walk around the lake with views of the Osorno volcano. (b)

Day 8 | Frutillar | Walk & explore
Walk short trails in the Vincente Perez Rosales National Park. Nearby you also have the popular town of Puerto Varas with its selection of excellent restaurants. (b)

Day 9 | Pucón | Drive north
Drive north to the town of Pucón. Settle into your riverside cabins tonight. The owner is very friendly and helpful. (b)

Day 10 | Pucón | Hores ride, raft or cycle
There are lots of options for activities in this area all easily arranged in town or through your hosts. Ride horses, go white water rafting or mountain biking.

Day 11 | Pucón | Climb a volcano
Climb the active cone of Villarica Volcano. Relax in volcanic hot springs near your cabins this evening.

Day 12 | Los Angeles | Drive to a ranch
Drive north towards the town of Los Angeles. Spend the next 2 nights on a ranch set in 500 hectares. (b,d)

Day 13 | Los Angeles | Relax and explore
Spend today on the ranch either relaxing or walking or riding horses. (b,l,d)

Day 14 | Maule Valley | To the vineyards
Continue north towards the Maule Valley which produces 45% of Chile’s wine. Stay in a charming and very friendly small inn just outside the town of Talca. (b)

Day 15 | Maule Valley | Explore vineyards
Tour local vineyards, there are 10 within easy distance. This afternoon visit a market, take a local train to the coast, walk, bike, horse ride or canoe. (b)

Day 16 | Colchagua Valley | Explore vineyards
Drive north to the Colchagua Valley, home to some of the most exclusive wine producers in the country. Relax in your 5* colonial style hotel in the centre of Santa Cruz. (b)

Day 17 | Colchagua Valley | Explore Vineyards
Visit premium wineries, including Mont Gras, Montes, Santa Rita and Casa Lapostolle. If you prefer, take a trip to the seaside. (b)

Day 18 | Vineyards | Return to Santiago
Morning drive to Santiago, return your car. Relax and enjoy the city's restaurants. (b)

Day 19 | Santiago | Depart for home
Explore the city from your well located 5* hotel. Fly home this evening. (b)

Day 20 | Home | Arrive back
